Practical Answers

Grouped Around the Way a Project Starts

These questions follow the same order as a useful enquiry: kitchen scope, custom design, joinery and storage, surfaces and supporting rooms, then service-area details.

Kitchen Renovations

Questions people usually ask before changing an existing kitchen layout, cabinetry or finish direction.

What does a kitchen renovation with H&R Kitchens cover?

A kitchen renovation can include layout planning, custom cabinetry, cabinet replacement, benchtops, splashbacks, storage planning and new kitchen installation. We confirm the exact scope with you before any work is agreed.

Do kitchen renovation, kitchen remodelling and kitchen remodeling mean the same thing?

They usually describe the same kind of project: improving an existing kitchen. We are happy to talk through layout, cabinetry, surfaces and installation scope during your enquiry.

Can H&R Kitchens replace only the kitchen cabinetry?

Yes. Cabinet replacement can be scoped as part of a wider renovation or as a cabinetry-focused upgrade when the existing layout is still suitable.

Can H&R Kitchens help with a new kitchen?

Yes. New kitchens are covered under the custom kitchen service when cabinetry, layout and installation are being planned from the beginning.

Custom Kitchens and Kitchen Design

Planning questions for homeowners comparing a made-to-measure kitchen with standard cabinet options.

How is a custom kitchen different from a flat-pack kitchen?

A custom kitchen is measured, designed and built around the home. It can solve awkward walls, ceiling heights, appliance choices and storage priorities more precisely than standard modules.

Can H&R Kitchens design and build the kitchen?

Yes. Kitchen design support is connected to custom cabinetry and installation, so planning can move from layout to finished kitchen without losing practical detail.

What should I think about before choosing finishes?

Start with storage, appliance positions, preparation space, sink placement and movement through the room. Finishes work best when they support a kitchen layout that already makes sense.

Can the kitchen design include pantry and island storage?

Yes. Pantry cabinetry, overhead cabinets, island drawers and integrated storage can be planned as part of a custom kitchen or kitchen cabinetry project.

Cabinetry, Joinery and Storage

Questions about custom cabinetry beyond the kitchen, including storage walls and fitted joinery.

What does custom joinery include?

Custom joinery can include cabinets, storage walls, entertainment units, shelving, wardrobes, vanities, laundry cabinetry and kitchen-related joinery.

Can H&R Kitchens build cabinets outside the kitchen?

Yes. H&R Kitchens works on residential joinery such as wardrobes, laundry cabinets, bathroom vanities, entertainment units and built-in storage where the project scope suits the home.

Can wardrobe work include walk-in robe cabinetry?

Yes. Walk-in wardrobe cabinetry is included where the project and room layout suit that scope.

Can one project include kitchen, laundry and storage joinery?

Yes. Multiple rooms can be discussed together where the timing, access and project scope suit a combined cabinetry brief.

Benchtops, Splashbacks and Utility Rooms

Questions about surfaces, laundries, bathroom vanities and related cabinetry work.

Can benchtops be included in a kitchen renovation?

Yes. Benchtops can be coordinated with cabinetry and splashbacks as part of a full kitchen renovation or custom kitchen project.

Can splashbacks be handled during a kitchen renovation?

Yes. Splashbacks can be planned with cabinetry and benchtops so the finished surfaces work together.

Can H&R Kitchens build custom laundry cabinets?

Yes. Custom laundry cabinets, overhead cupboards and tall storage can be planned as part of a laundry renovation.

Does H&R Kitchens do full bathroom renovations?

H&R Kitchens focuses this service on bathroom vanities and bathroom joinery. Broader bathroom renovation work can be discussed directly before any scope is agreed.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost?

Kitchen renovation cost depends on the room, cabinetry scope, surfaces, layout changes, appliances, access and installation requirements. The most useful next step is to request a quote with photos and a short project brief, and we will work through it with you.

What should I include in a project enquiry?

Share the room type, address or suburb, rough timing, what you want changed, any preferred finishes and clear photos of the existing space. Plans or measurements are useful too, if you already have them.
