Scribed to the room
We measure the room, plan the hanging, drawers and shelves, and make the wardrobe in our workshop before scribing it to the walls on site, floor to ceiling where the room allows.

A wardrobe is priced on its size and the length of the run, whether it is a single built-in robe or a full walk-in fit-out, the robe doors and finish, and how detailed the interior is — more drawers, shoe storage, accessory fittings and soft-close hardware all add to it. Settling the interior and the doors at the measure means the written quote describes the wardrobe that will be made.

Planning the wardrobe
Divide the wardrobe by what you own.
Hanging, drawers and shelves come first; the doors and finishes follow the bedroom and the space they need to open.
Door movement and access
Test hinged or sliding doors against the bed, walls and circulation. In a walk-in, check that open drawers and hanging clothes leave comfortable access.
Bedroom finishes and hardware
Compare board finishes, door profiles and handles with the bedroom. Confirm drawer hardware, shelves and any lighting allowances before the cabinetry is made.

How long does a built-in wardrobe take?
Installing a wardrobe usually takes a day or two on site. Before that come the design, the measure and making the cabinetry in our workshop. A walk-in fit-out or a detailed interior takes longer to make than a single built-in robe, and the quote sets out the timing for your room.
What is included in a built-in wardrobe?
A built-in wardrobe can include cabinetry, robe doors and a fitted interior with hanging zones, shelving, drawers and shoe storage. The same materials and details can also carry through to linen cupboards and other storage in the home.
What is the difference between a built-in and a walk-in wardrobe?
A built-in wardrobe sits flush against a bedroom wall behind doors, while a walk-in is a room you step into with open or part-open shelving and hanging. The interiors are similar; the walk-in just needs the floor space. We can advise which suits your room when you enquire.
Can you fit out an existing wardrobe or walk-in robe?
Yes. If the existing robe is sound, a new fitted interior with hanging, shelving, drawers and shoe storage may be possible without rebuilding the whole wardrobe. The measure confirms what suits the space.
What robe doors can I choose for a custom wardrobe?
Hinged, sliding and mirrored doors are all options, in shaker, flat-panel or handleless profiles. Sliding doors suit tight rooms where a hinged door would be in the way; mirrored fronts save a separate mirror. We help you weigh the look, the room and how the door opens.
