Across the established parts of the Hills and its newer estates, many renovations involve detached homes where the kitchen has a larger footprint but an older storage plan. The opportunity is rarely just to add cabinets. It is to improve the relationship between the cooking zone, the island, the dining area and the route to the backyard or family room.
Island and pantry upgrades
An island works best when seating, preparation, storage and appliance clearances are planned together. Walk-in and butler's pantries are treated as part of the working kitchen, not as a separate cupboard room.

Measure and plan
We measure on site, then settle the layout, storage, surfaces and appliances with you. Usually about 2–6 weeks.

Made in our workshop
Your cabinetry is made to the confirmed measurements before the old kitchen comes out. Usually about 4–8 weeks.

Removal and installation
We remove the old kitchen and install the new cabinetry, with the plumbing and electrical work sequenced around it. Usually about a week on site.

Benchtops, splashback and handover
Stone and porcelain benchtops are templated once the cabinets are fixed, then the splashback and final adjustments follow. Usually about 1–2 weeks.

Can you design a large island for a Hills District family home?
Yes. We size the island around the room's clearances, seating, preparation needs and storage rather than choosing a standard length. The aim is a generous work zone without compromising movement through the kitchen.
Can a kitchen renovation include a butler's pantry?
Yes. We can plan preparation bench space, drawers, shelving, appliance storage and, where the wider trade work allows, a second sink. The pantry is designed alongside the main kitchen so the two zones work together.
Do you build the cabinetry yourselves?
Yes. The cabinetry can be made to the confirmed room dimensions, with storage, appliance requirements, access and installation considered in the same design brief.

As a planning guide, a smaller replacement with limited layout changes typically costs around $25,000–$35,000, a more involved renovation with upgraded cabinetry and finishes $35,000–$60,000, and complex, high-specification work $60,000–$100,000 or more. The layout, the amount of cabinetry, the benchtop and splashback materials, appliances and any plumbing or electrical changes make the difference. Your written quote is based on your measured room.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
A typical full kitchen renovation takes about 10–14 weeks from the first measure to handover. Most of that is design and making the cabinetry in our workshop; you are usually without a working kitchen for about 2–4 weeks while the old kitchen comes out, the new one goes in and the benchtops and splashback are fitted. Your quote includes a schedule for your kitchen.
Can you change the kitchen layout or add an island?
Often, yes. We check the room, the walkways and where the plumbing, gas and power run, then show you what moving the sink or cooktop, or adding an island, would involve before you decide.
