Cabinetry
Kitchen Cabinetry & Joinery Sydney
Good cabinetry is the part of a kitchen you touch every day — the doors that close softly, the drawers that glide, the pantry that swallows the clutter — so we make ours to measure and look after the detail right through to install day.
Cabinetry is the core of any kitchen — it sets the storage, the proportions and the finish of the whole room. H&R Kitchens builds kitchen cabinets and joinery for homes across Sydney, from doors, drawers, pantries and overheads to integrated appliance cabinetry and soft-close hardware, all made to measure in our own workshop and fitted by our own team, whether it is a full kitchen or a cabinetry-only replacement.

Made to measure, not modular
Flat-pack cabinets come in fixed widths, so they leave fillers in corners and gaps around appliances. We measure your room and build the cabinets to suit it — using awkward corners properly, fitting your fridge and oven cleanly, and getting the storage you actually need rather than the nearest standard size.

Where the joinery quality shows
The difference between an ordinary kitchen and a good one is in the detail you keep noticing: door profiles that line up, drawers that run on quality soft-close runners, clean kickboards and end panels, and consistent gaps between every door. We plan drawer layouts, pantry fit-outs and internal storage so each cabinet earns its space.
- 03
Materials and finishes
We build cabinetry in shaker, flat-panel and handleless profiles, with doors in painted finishes, laminate, melamine, timber veneer and natural timber. Soft-close hinges and runners come as standard, with handles, pulls and edge details in brushed nickel, matt black or your chosen finish — chosen alongside the benchtop and splashback so the room reads as one considered palette.

What shapes the cost of kitchen cabinetry
The main cost drivers are the number and size of the cabinets, the length of the run, the door style and finish, the quality of the hinges and runners, and how much integrated or appliance cabinetry you want — pantries, tall units and concealed bins add to it. We talk these trade-offs through early so your quote matches the cabinetry you actually want.

Good to know
Kitchen Cabinetry questions
The questions we hear most often, kept close to the service so the brief, scope and next step stay clear before you get in touch.
How long does custom kitchen cabinetry take to make and install?
Most kitchen cabinetry takes a few weeks to build in the workshop, plus a short design and measure stage beforehand and usually a day or two on site to install. The exact timeline depends on the number of cabinets, the finish and any appliance integration. You get a realistic schedule with your quote.
What is included in kitchen cabinetry and joinery?
It covers the cabinet-making core of the kitchen: doors, drawers, pantries, overhead and tall cabinets, island and appliance cabinetry, plus the soft-close hinges, runners and handles. We make it to measure in our workshop and fit it as a standalone job or as part of a full kitchen.
Can you replace just the kitchen cabinets and keep the rest?
Yes. If the layout still works, we can replace the cabinetry on its own and keep your existing benchtop, splashback or appliances where it makes sense. A cabinetry-only upgrade is a faster, lower-cost way to refresh a tired kitchen.
What cabinet door style and finish should I choose?
Shaker doors suit classic and Hamptons-style kitchens, flat-panel and handleless profiles suit a contemporary look, and finishes range from painted and laminate to timber veneer. We help you weigh durability, cleaning and look against your benchtop and the rest of the home.
Are soft-close hinges and drawers standard?
Yes. We fit quality soft-close hinges and runners as standard so doors and drawers close quietly and keep working over time. Heavier drawers and pull-out pantries can be upgraded to higher-rated runners where they carry more weight.

Client feedback
Homeowners on working with H&R Kitchens.
Our old kitchen was awkward and didn't have enough storage. H&R Kitchens came up with a layout that made much better use of the space, and the workmanship is excellent. Everything feels sturdy, well fitted, and built to last.
What stood out most was the communication. We always knew when trades were coming, what stage the job was at, and what decisions we needed to make. The kitchen looks beautiful, but it's also really practical for everyday family use.
I'm absolutely thrilled with my new kitchen from H&R Kitchens! They were the only trade that delivered exactly when they said they would — prompt, professional, and super reliable. Everyone was honest, easy to deal with, and went above and beyond to make sure everything turned out perfectly. The finished kitchen looks even better than I imagined! Highly recommend H&R Kitchens to anyone wanting quality work and a stress-free experience.
