Custom Kitchens
Custom Kitchens Sydney
When the standard cabinet sizes just won't sit right in your room, a custom kitchen is the honest answer — and we measure, build and fit the whole thing in-house so it lands the way it was drawn.
A custom kitchen is made to measure for your actual room rather than assembled from off-the-shelf modules. H&R Kitchens builds custom kitchens for Sydney homes where standard sizes or layouts compromise the result — bespoke cabinetry, islands, pantries and butler's pantries, overheads and a storage plan that fits how your household cooks, all designed, built and installed by our own team.

Built around your room, not a cabinet grid
A custom kitchen starts with the room you actually have — the wall lengths, the ceiling height, the window line and the way you move between sink, cooktop and fridge. We size every cabinet, island and pantry to suit that, so awkward corners and odd runs are used properly instead of being filled with packers.
- 02
Cabinetry made to measure
Every cabinet is built to your dimensions in our workshop, which is the real difference between custom and flat-pack. That means appliances sit flush, drawers run the full depth they can, and the kitchen carries cleanly through to nearby living areas without the gaps and filler panels you get off the shelf.
- 03
Materials and finishes
We work in finishes that suit a kitchen you use every day: natural-stone and porcelain benchtops, tile, glass or stone splashbacks, and doors in shaker, flat-panel or handleless profiles, including timber and matt laminates. Soft-close runners come as standard, and we match hardware — brushed nickel, matt black or integrated handles — to the rest of the palette.

What shapes the cost of a custom kitchen
As a general guide, a custom kitchen in Sydney usually sits from around $35,000–$60,000 for a mid-range build and $60,000–$100,000 or more for a premium one, since the whole kitchen is designed and made to measure rather than assembled from standard modules. The main cost drivers are the size of the kitchen and the total length of the cabinetry run, the door style and finish, the benchtop material (laminate, natural stone or porcelain), how much storage joinery you add such as a butler's pantry or full-height units, and the level of appliance integration. Every kitchen is different, so we price each one on its own scope and give you an exact quote after a measure-up.

Custom Kitchens questions
The questions we hear most often, kept close to the service so the brief, scope and next step stay clear before you get in touch.
How is a custom kitchen different from a flat-pack kitchen?
A custom kitchen is measured, designed and built to your exact room, so it solves awkward walls, ceiling heights and storage priorities that standard modules can't. Flat-pack uses fixed sizes and fills the gaps with panels; custom uses every millimetre and fits appliances cleanly.
Can you build a brand-new kitchen, not just renovate one?
Yes. New kitchens for builds and extensions sit within our custom kitchen service, where the cabinetry, layout, storage and installation are planned from a blank room. We coordinate with your plumber and electrician so the kitchen drops into the right services.
What's included in a custom kitchen?
A custom kitchen covers made-to-measure cabinetry, islands, pantries and overheads, a worked-out storage plan, benchtops and splashbacks, plus hardware and finish selection and full installation by our own team. We scope each project around your room and how you cook.
Can a custom kitchen include a butler's or walk-in pantry?
Yes. A butler's or walk-in pantry is one of the most popular additions, and because the joinery is custom we can fit it to the space you have — bench prep, shelving, drawers and even a second sink. We plan it alongside the main kitchen run.
How do I choose the door style for a custom kitchen?
It comes down to the look you want and the rest of your home: shaker for a classic profile, flat-panel for a clean modern line, and handleless for a minimal finish. We bring samples and weigh durability, finish and cost with you before anything is locked in.
Which parts of Sydney do you build custom kitchens in?

Client feedback
Homeowners on working with H&R Kitchens.
We're really happy with the quality of the cabinetry and the attention to detail. A few tricky corners in our kitchen were handled really well, and the final result looks clean, solid, and professionally finished. It's made a huge difference to how we use the space.
From the first measure-up to the final install, the team were easy to deal with and very clear about what was happening. They gave helpful advice without pushing us into anything, and the kitchen turned out better than we had pictured.
Our old kitchen was awkward and didn't have enough storage. H&R Kitchens came up with a layout that made much better use of the space, and the workmanship is excellent. Everything feels sturdy, well fitted, and built to last.
